The Nursing Home Department is responsible for covering the total need for nursing home places in Oslo municipality. There are 51 nursing homes in Oslo, 22 of these are managed by the municipality, 13 nursing and old peoples homes are run in accordance with contracts with non-public organisations, 13 nursing homes are run by private commercial actors and 3 institutions out of town for buying individual places.
Oslo municipality shall procure a selection of furniture for rooms for patients for the alteration of long term nursing homes to Helsehus.
